Friday August 22, 2008. 03:25 PM Analog Industries Replicant Overview And Tips... from Audio Damage on Vimeo. Sometimes, things are just harder than they need to be, plain and simple. Such was the case with this. After fighting with Vimeo for a fair portion of the day (apparently, the above tutorial is actually a commercial) I gave up and uploaded it to straight Google Video. However, the Google version was horribly pixelated; the convertors they use when going that direction are just plain bad. So I thought "well, I'll just make an Audio Damage account at YouTube. Easy enough." That turned out to be a not-insignificant amount of trouble too, as YouTube couldn't manage to mail me a confirmation mail to our server. Long story short, I got it done, uploaded, and discovered some sort of odd pixel ratio problem, which is interesting as I rendered the video in NTSC DV format. Well, live and learn, I guess. Every time I do anything with video, I'm amazed at how complicated the various forces concerned have managed to make it. Anyhow, this link forces YouTube's "high quality" mode, in which you can almost sort of make out the words on the displays. It's still a little oblong, but that's life. So, as this is the first one, I'm open to any and all suggestions as to format, content, and my ability (or lack thereof) to not say "ummmmm..." EDIT: As you can plainly see, I was able to do the Vimeo dealy-bob after all. Still have the pixel ratio issue, so I guess that's somehow my fault. Anyhow, more better there. In stereo, and defaults to the same res that YouTube's "high resolution" is.
