SMARTBUSS FIBER OPTIC MODULE EXPANDS MULTIMEDIA NETWORK CAPABILITIES
40km Network Enhances Metropolitan Area Applications, Adds Capacity
Orlando, FL (April 29, 2008) ?? Intelligent Media Technologies (IMT) has added the
SB101F fiber optic interface module to the SmartBuss multimedia network series. The
module is intended for installations using single mode 1310nm fiber optic
infrastructure. The SmartBuss network offers any-to-any virtual matrix routing with
convergent services for a variety of multimedia applications including CCTV, digital
signage, physical security and public address systems.
The module features a duplex LC connector port and the topology is daisy-chain with
Upstream Feed and Downstream Feed on Single Mode fiber optic cable. Optional
redundant fiber optic networks with a second fiber path are configurable for mission
critical applications that can not tolerate frame drop or frame slip and require
100% Quality of Service. These redundant configurations are IEC-EN60849 compliant
for emergency systems applications.
Hybrid Cat5 and fiber optic networks may be configured to optimize performance and
cost efficiency. These networks are configured with local tributaries using
SmartBuss SB101C Cat5 interfaces for hops to 100 meters that are resident in nodes
connected to backbones using SB101F fiber modules for hops to 40km.
SmartBuss fiber optic network channel capacities (per fiber) are 838 audio 24 bit
48kHz, 314 composite CCTV video, 157 video D1, 2514 slow scan data RS232-RS422-RS485
and a 10BaseT Ethernet channel.
