I'm a huge fan of the Korg Pandora and I've owned several of them and currently use the Korg PX4D (which I love although I think needs service). I've even used both of my Pandora units for live playing, most recently using my PX4D as a bass preamp. Korg just recently released the newest Pandora model and they added everything that I've always wanted, including footswitch capability and a USB connectivity so that you can edit patches and use it as an audio interface for digital recording.
