Home again. Sorry for the hiatus, but vacation means vacation, if you know what I mean. Underworld was t3h Awesome, as always. I've liked all their albums, from '86 on, and judging from the new material they played, I'll like the next one as well. Good performance, nice set, great sound, no complaints whatsoever. However... The opening "band" (and I use that term with the loosest possible reference, since it doesn't actually apply) was Paul Oakenfold. I have to say that I'm pondering starting a campaign to get this fucknut off the streets for good, and in to, say, an insurance adjuster's office, where he belongs. This is, I think, the sixth time I've been forced to sit through one of his "sets," over the course of several years now, and what's interesting is that he's actually showing negative progression. Whereas most people get better at whatever it is they choose to do the longer they do it, he's getting worse. Never mind that what was coming out of his mixer was trance, and thus inherently bad, but it was distorted to all fuck and back, and... well, I could easily get off on a rant here, so let's just leave it at this: if _ANYONE_ else got up and tried to do that set, he'd get booed off the stage. Guess what, kids? The emperor has no clothes.
