Alcons @ PLASA 2007
Exhibiting for the fifth time in her existence, Alcons Audio will be present at the PLASA show with a number of novelties, including an interesting “design-study”.
Extending the line-up of the B-series, the BF151 is a new, front-loaded bass system, for both permanent and portable applications. Featuring a single 15” long-excursion high-power woofer, in combination with Alcons’ proprietary Signal Integrity Sensing™ pre-wiring, the BF151 delivers high quality, tight and accurate bass response.
Another main showing is the QB363: Featuring a triple-12” array-configuration, the QB363 acts as a modular low-end extension of the QR-series pro-ribbon column arrays. This bass system operates completely within the acoustic line-array parameters, resulting in perfect projection control. The modular principle enables vertical (or even horizontal) tight bass arrays up to or even beyond 10 meters.
But highlight on the Alcons stand will be the Phitom design study: This evolutionary design concept is a study on how to implement pro-ribbon technology into a large-scale sound reinforcement system. Utilizing a complete new generation of extreme-power pro-ribbon transducer technology, as well as new state-of-the-art cone driver designs, this development platform shows that “HiFi at concert SPL’s” is no longer a hollow marketing phrase, but now within reach.
Of course, a selection of other Alcons products will be on show, including the QR36 ribbon-array columns, the LR16 pro-ribbon line-array, now performing in the musical Fame in London’s West End and the LR14 ultra-compact ribbon line-array, which was installed in the Stuttgarter Staatsoper.
