Ahead of schedule, MakeMusic recently announced Finale 2008. One of the most exciting features is the ability to record an audio track or import a wave file to playback along with score! After importing the audio file, you can use TempoTap to line-up the audio file to the notation. With Kontakt 2 included with Finale 2008, you can easily use sounds from multiple NI compatible sound libraries. So you don't have to fiddle with other sound libraries if you don't want to, there are now more Garritan sounds included as well, such as saxes and choirs. Although most people probably won't need to use it very frequently, Finale has a handy new feature that can merge multiple scores into one file. This would allow you to import multiple movements into a single document, or merge a bunch of individual parts into one score. There are a host of other new features, but if you want to upgrade, you have to purchase the upgrade directly from MakeMusic, as they don't sell the upgrades through dealers. However, if you are a first time Finale buyer, you can buy Finale 2008 now. - Kelly
