Adding extra processing power to desktop Macs and PCs has always been a relatively simple affair. With numerous PCI and FireWire-based products available from Universal Audio, TC Electronic and SSL, users are really only limited by budget when shopping for upgrades.
FiXT Remix has announced the start of the new remix competition for ?So Long Sentiment? by indie electronic-rock artist Celldweller. Breakbeat producer Toksin has created a featured remix of the track, and stems from his remix have been included in the official remix download package so you can remix the remix. Remixers in the contest have the opportunity to try out demos of the entire plug-in suite from software company FabFilter, with installers pre-included in the official contest download file.
Mackie announces Windows 7 support for its FireWire interfaces, including the new Onyx-i Series FireWire recording mixers.
Denon DJ is offering a rebate on its DN-S3700 digital media turntable. Through December 31, 2009, each new DN-S3700 purchased through an authorized Denon DJ dealer in the U.S. will make the customer eligible for a $100 mail-in rebate.
