Sydney-based production company Action Sound recently upgraded their wireless microphone inventory with four channels of Electro-Voice REV handheld systems – two REV-D dual-channel receivers and four performer handheld transmitters with RE510 condenser capsules.
The Pandemonium Tour by much-loved British electro-pop duo The Pet Shop Boys is the first touring show to use Britannia Row’s “new” X-Line system, which has recently been turbocharged by the implementation of EV’s ground-breaking FIR-Drive (Finite Impulse Response Filters) technology.
The front-loaded offering from the Electro-Voice EV-Innovation family of installation-dedicated loudspeakers, the new EVF series is designed to provide an optimal combination of value, versatility and excellent audio quality. A recent installation at Faith Bible Church in Canton, Ohio typifies the kind of application for which EVF was created. The Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, OH recently renovated their GameDay Stadium theater – the crown jewel of the football shrine. Pigskin fans are now treated to a modern AV experience at the theater featuring a full Electro-Voice PA system.
An extensive Electro-Voice sound system at the new BB King’s Blues Club & Grill in West Palm Beach, Florida does justice to the legendary guitarist’s reputation for excellent tone. The West Palm Beach location joins a growing list of BB King’s around the U.S., including Memphis, Nashville, Orlando and Las Vegas.

Held at the Twin Cities’ largest live performance venue, the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, the annual KDWB Jingle Ball kicked of the holiday season with big name entertainment and big sound to match, thanks to an Electro-Voice X-Line sound system deployed by local production company Eternal Systems, Inc. The December 6th event featured a host of top pop acts including Jordin Sparks, Pitbull, Colbie Caillat, Boys Like Girls, 3oh!3, Justin Bieber, Jay Sean, and local rising stars Owl City.
To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, festival organizers engaged street theatre specialists Royal de Luxe to provide a 'gigantic' spectacle. TSG AG of Berlin was responsible for the sound production as the performance wound its way through the docklands. The Electro-Voice equipment deployed included X-Line and XLD line arrays, TG-7 amplifiers and NetMax N8000 controllers.

The Electro-Voice team recently visited Mexico and Colombia for two IRIS-Net software certification training sessions – presented for the first time in Spanish. The sessions were lead by George Georgallis, EV’s Senior Technical Support Applications Specialist, with translation by Nicolas Betancur, Inside Sales Engineer – Latin America, with assistance from sales managers Juan Montoya (Colombia) and Ernesto Montanez (Mexico).
Shuttlesound is in the final stages of one of its largest hotel installations, the audio component of a complete integrated hotel-wide AV system for the latest opening in the Grange Hotels chain, the Grange St Paul’s Hotel in the city of London. The project has demanded over 1/4 million GBP of Electro-Voice professional sound reinforcement products, including an extensive networked audio solution and two complete line-array systems for the main conference facilities, installed and programmed by Kingdom Services.

Effective immediately, Venuetech LLC becomes an Electro-Voice distributor for the U.A.E. In parallel, the existing partner, NMK Electronics Ent., will continue to market the products until mid of April 2010. This change doesn't affect the distribution of Electro-Voice microphones, which stays with AVL Electronics.

Bosch Security Systems, Inc., Communications Systems Division is delighted to present Jess Ashby with the National Systems Contractors Association (NSCA) Education Foundation Robert Bosch Scholarship. A native of northern Virginia, Ashby, 22, will receive a $2,500 scholarship, which is dedicated to the memory of Robert Bosch and awarded to students entering the commercial electronics systems industry.
Spokane, WA – Spokane Country Raceway recently renovated both their drag strip and oval raceway facilities. Lift AV (Renton, WA) provided a new announcement system. Both the drag strip and oval raceways are using Electro-Voice paging horn speakers, new CPS multi-channel amplifiers, and RE-2 wireless systems.
Austin City Limits Music Festival, one of the premier music festivals in the U.S., recently capped-off another fantastic year of musical festivities. Held from October 3rd to the 5th, 130 bands gathered in the Texan capital to treat music fans to three full days of performances across eight stages. On the 4th and 5th of September 2009, six of the finest pyrotechnic teams in the world competed for the Pyronale Gold Cup in Berlin. Some 60,000 spectators shuffled through the Maifeld and the Olympic Stadium and marveled at the spectacular fireworks displays. The third season of AMC’s hit drama “Mad Men” premiered in New York’s Times Square with suitably classy sound reinforcement from Zeo Brothers (Hatboro, Penn.) and Electro-Voice.

Nihon Gaishi Hall in Nagoya, Japan can seat up to 10,000 people and plays host to 900,000 guests annually. A leading venue for amateur and pro sports events, the hall also regularly features concerts by top musicians like Eric Clapton and Yumi Matsutoya, as well as a wide range of exhibitions. In February 2009 the hall upgraded their sound system with state-of-the-art equipment from Electro-Voice.
World-renowned Japanese DJ Towa Tei, most renowned as a founding member of seminal New York club trio Deee Lite, started his latest 10-location, 10-stage Japanese “DJ Tour” with an album release party dubbed “Motivational Special – Big Fun Release Party,” held at Air Tokyo Daikanyama on February 13th, 2009. Special guests from Japan and around the globe made appearances and performed in front of 1,200 enthusiastic spectators. Electro-Voice microphones helped ensure the event sounded superb.
The 3,000-seat Takeshi Mitarai Memorial Hall, named for the Canon’s first president, Takeshi Mitarai, was constructed at Canon headquarters to commemorate the company’s 70th anniversary. The hall will be primarily used for shareholder meetings, and was planned with close attention to clearer speech intelligibility. The project began soon after a Canon staff member visited a well-known competitor’s shareholder meeting hall and heard Electro-Voice sound.

The Arena Zagreb, which opened in December 2008, has raised the architectural profile of the Croatian capital, Zagreb. Tehnozavod Marusic installed an extensive pro sound system from Electro-Voice in the multifunction hall, which seats up to 22,000 visitors. High-calibre concerts from acts such as Beyonce and the London Symphony Orchestra crowned the highly successful inaugural event season.
