Basically, just an experiment recording with a newly purchased Zoom MRS1608CD multi-track unit. Guitars 1 & 2 are my old Kaman Applause Accoustic/electric in open D tuning....
our music is kinda a different style of rap...my boi james sings most of the hooks and i rap the verses.....
I start all my tracks with a vibe energy that make people go nuts!....

18 SM57's on the drums, two PG-81's on the cymbals, two mics on the guitar, one directl line plus a 57 on the bass guitar....
This song was written about a month ago. It's acoustic with some added arrangement. All songs are recorded using Apple G5 running Logic Pro. For percussion I use either EX24 Drum sets (some from disks) wavs from disks or Drums on Demand Rex2 files. I prefer the rex as they fit the arrangement and are editable easily. Acoustic guitars are Yamaha and Washburn....

This song 'Blusie Susie', for lack of a better name, I recorded a couple years ago now, I guess. At tht time I was using Cool Edit Version 2 for a recording medium. I always do my recording on my computer using line in. I now use Adobe Audition 3.

The basic Melody or Rhythm track is laid down using a metronome click and the instrument or rhythm upon which the inspiration for the composition was based. Then the Musical Rhythm track is put down with the chord structure using a piano, guitar or brass...
Here's an experiment. Take out your axe. Your electric guitar, I mean. Plug it into your fiercest, most shredding amplifier, preferably through your favorite 'Ghost of Jimi' distortion pedal too. Now play a six-string chord. G will do, F will be nice if you're up to it. Arrrgggghhhh!!!!!!

Jingle Junkie is part of a Christmas Album in progress. It was recorded using Midi processing through a Behringer 900 mixer with Alesis Midiverb II, dbx Project 1 Compressor/gate, BBE Sonic Maximizer and Aphex Aural Exciter into a vintage Alesis Blackface ADAT and then mixed into computer using Cool Edit. The Keyboard is a Korg Triton Pro with a Roland Sound Canvas module on the side for the drums and other rhythm effects. Monitor speakers are the Alesis Model One Active MK2....
